Do Broncos make the most sense if Eli Manning leaves Giants?

Eli Manning

Eli Manning’s future with the New York Giants remains up in the air, and some have wondered if he will follow the same career path as his older brother should he find himself looking for work this offseason.

With the Denver Broncos in need of an upgrade at quarterback, there has been talk about John Elway potentially pursuing Eli Manning the same way he did with Peyton. If you’re someone who wants to see that happen, you might be excited to hear that Giants offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan is reportedly going to interview for Denver’s QB coach job.

Does that make Manning any more likely to sign with the Broncos if the Giants release him? Probably not, but it can’t hurt.

Manning wants to retire with the Giants, and new GM Dave Gettleman recently hinted that he expects Eli to be the team’s starter in 2018. However, the Giants have the second overall pick in this year’s draft, and it will be tough for them to resist drafting either Josh Rosen or Sam Darnold if both players decide to turn pro.

Considering he turned 36 on Wednesday, there’s also a chance Manning could just retire if the Giants want to move on from him. He already has two Super Bowl rings, and he may have no interest in starting fresh the same way Peyton did. Still, the storyline will get very interesting if New York wants to go in another direction.
