Report: Browns chose Kevin Stefanski over Robert Saleh as head coach
Saturday’s NFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Minnesota Vikings and San Francisco 49ers was a showcase of sorts between two Cleveland Browns head coaching candidates. What’s strange is that the Browns chose the one who looked worse.
The 49ers hammered the Vikings 27-10, with San Francisco’s defense completely dominating Minnesota’s offense. That didn’t stop Cleveland from choosing Vikings offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski as their head coach.
According to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot, the Browns chose Stefanski over 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who was the other finalist for the job.
The #Browns HC search came down to Kevin Stefanski and #49ers Robert Saleh, source tells me. Decision not finalized before their head-to-head matchup yesterday.

The Browns must have made their decision prior to Saturday’s playoff game, because there’s no way you could watch that game and say you want Stefanski over Saleh. Then again, this is the Browns we’re talking about, so choosing the guy who looked worse actually is pretty typical for them. Richard Sherman will not be happy to hear this.
