The Cleveland Browns unveiled a new alternate helmet on Wednesday, but things went very wrong for one photographer.
As part of the reveal, the Browns showed off an oversized inflatable version of the new helmet design on a raft on Lake Erie. The big reveal involved removing a tarp from the helmet to show it off.
One photographer on the raft, while shifting to get a better view, lost track of where he was and plunged into Lake Erie.

A different angle showed that the photographer simply didn’t watch his feet and paid the price for it.

Naturally, the moment was easy fodder for jokes. One X user even dubbed it “the most Cleveland Browns clip of all time.”

The Browns are the only team who could have someone almost drown while reviewing a new helmet color. Only in Cleveland. pic.twitter.com/a8zRmXwOjj

The Browns are not exactly smashing the promotional side of things lately. New helmets are not going to change the fact that the Browns went 3-14 last season and don’t have high hopes for this year, either. If anything, the soaked photographer is a better summary of where the team is at than anything else.
