Bruce Irvin apologizes for DUI April Fool’s joke
Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin decided to be one of those professional athletes that pranks everyone with an April Fool’s Day joke, and it did not go all that well.
On Wednesday morning, Irvin tweeted that he had been arrested for driving while under the influence.
Before this hits the media I just wanna apologize to my fans and the @Seahawks organization once again. I made a terrible decision b driving

Most people didn’t find it funny. There’s a difference between harmless April Fool’s jokes like this on from Mike Tyson and joking about a serious issue like drinking and driving. As we were reminded when this running back was cut immediately following his arrest, a DUI is not a joking matter.
Irvin, a former West Virginia star, apologized while also criticizing his followers for taking the joke too seriously.
Ok it was a joke didn't meant to disrespect anybody. Damn relax

There are plenty of other ways to get cheap laughs on April Fool’s Day. Irvin didn’t need to go there.
