Bernard Pierce arrested for DUI
Baltimore Ravens running back Bernard Pierce was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with driving while under the influence.
Baltimore County police told Jessica Anderson of The Baltimore Sun that Pierce was stopped for speeding in a 2014 Ford Mustang at around 2:00 a.m. An officer suspected the 24-year-old had been drinking and administered a field sobriety test, which Pierce reportedly failed. Police said Pierce was cooperative during the arrest.
Pierce, who was allegedly driving 55 mph in a 30-mph zone, was charged with exceeding maximum speed and driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on highway in addition to DUI.
Under the NFL’s revised drug policy, Pierce could be facing an automatic two-game suspension. Pierce was expected to be given a chance to run away with the Ravens’ starting running back job after Ray Rice was suspended last year, but Justin Forsett was far more effective.
