Cam Heyward can finally bring his focus back solely on football.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a revised contract with the All-Pro defensive lineman. Several reports emerged Saturday indicating that Heyward will receive $3 million in additional incentives, which raises the ceiling of his 2025 salary to $18 million.

Real concern had been brewing over Heyward’s availability for the Steelers’ Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets. The seven-time Pro Bowler first made it known there was a contract dispute early last month and later hinted at the possibility of holding out on the Steelers.
In the days leading up to Pittsburgh’s Week 1 contest, Heyward remained cryptic about his status. The shiny new agreement ensures that Heyward will suit up for the Steelers on Sunday in their season opener.
Heyward signed a three-year, $45 million extension with Pittsburgh just last September. But the Steelers captain shared last month that he took the deal with an understanding that the team would revisit it if he had another All-Pro season in 2024.
Sure enough, Heyward earned First-Team All-Pro honors for the fourth time in his career. It took some time and a little push from Heyward himself, but the Steelers kept their word to reward him with a better deal.
