Carson Wentz voices excitement about Jalen Hurts pick
Carson Wentz has given his stamp of approval to the Philadelphia Eagles using their second round pick on quarterback Jalen Hurts.
Wentz said Monday that he was “excited” about the Hurts pick and had heard good things about his new backup quarterback.
Carson Wentz on the #Eagles drafting Jalen Hurts: "Excited to add him to the team. … Heard nothing but great things about Jalen, the kid he is and the player he is. I got a chance to talk to him just briefly. Create a really good, healthy, competitive challenging environment."

It’s fair to say that quarterbacks aren’t always excited to see their teams use high draft picks at that position instead of getting more offensive weapons. This is a bit different, as it seems Hurts can be an offensive weapon himself.
Wentz is pretty secure in his starting job, but has had injury issues. Hurts is not a threat to his job. He might just help Wentz be even better depending on what role he’s used in.
