Jim Harbaugh finally has Los Angeles Chargers fans believing again.

The Chargers on Sunday outlasted the Cincinnati Bengals in a 34-27 affair at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The win was Los Angeles’ fourth in a row and improved the team’s record to 7-3 through Week 11.

But the victory did not come easily for the Chargers, who nearly let a 27-6 lead slip away. The Bengals scored 21 straight points to tie the game at 27 thanks in large part to heroics from Joe Burrow.

Losing a winnable game down the stretch has been such a familiar occurence for the Chargers over the years that the fan base even coined the term “chargering” to describe whenever it happens. But after the the team came up with big plays down the stretch, several fans declared that Harbaugh may have finally put an end to “chargering” once and for all.

Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert went 17/36 in the win for 297 yards with 2 touchdowns.

In his first year with Harbaugh as his head coach, Herbert has thrown just one interception through 10 games played. Most importantly for fans, the team is poised for its best regular season finish since Herbert came aboard in 2020.

Perhaps the magic comes from the new nickname Harbaugh bestowed on Herbert this season. As far as most Chargers fans are concerned, Harbaugh can do little wrong.
