Chargers tweet hilarious ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ clip in response to London rumors

A report this week claimed there is momentum building toward the Chargers possibly making a move to London due to the lack of fan interest they have been able to generate in Los Angeles, and the team issued a phenomenal response to that report on Tuesday.

Vincent Bonsignore of The Athletic said he was told by NFL sources that NFL owners are concerned about the crowded sports market in LA and the popularity of the Rams. The NFL seems to want a team in London, and Bonsignore reports the Chargers would at least listen if approached by the league about the subject.

Well, here is the Chargers’ response:

For those of you who don’t get the reference, that clip is from “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Leonardo DiCaprio plays the role of infamous stock broker Jordan Belfort in the film, and the above scene takes place when the feds want Belfort to take a plea deal but he decides he is not leaving the firm he started.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, perhaps Chargers owner Dean Spanos calling the report “total f—ing bulls—t” will be.

“It’s total f—ing bull—t, OK? We’re not going to London,” Spanos said Tuesday, per Jason Hirschhorn of Sports Illustrated. “We’re not going anywhere. We’re playing in Los Angeles. This is our home. This is where I’m planning to be for a long f—ing time. Period.”

The idea of the Chargers moving to London seemed far-fetched to begin with, even if their own players have expressed concern over the environment at home games. That talk can officially be put to rest.
