Charlie Whitehurst signs with Browns
Two Cleveland Browns quarterbacks have gone down with injuries in the first two weeks of the season, which left the franchise in search of additional options. They decided to resolve that matter by signing free agent Charlie Whitehurst.
Whitehurst’s agents announced the move on Twitter Monday:

The Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich says the team will announce the move on Tuesday.
Whitehurst saw action last season for the Indianapolis Colts and threw for seven touchdowns in seven games the previous season with the Tennessee Titans. He will give the shorthanded Browns another option while Josh McCown and Robert Griffin III recover.
Meanwhile, rookie third-round pick Cody Kessler out of USC is likely to start in Week 3 for Cleveland.
