Chase Young has great plan for following social distancing during draft party

Chase Young

Chase Young will likely be the second player to hear his name called during the NFL Draft on Thursday night, and the former Ohio State star wants to make sure his family and friends can enjoy the event despite all that is going on with the coronavirus pandemic. In order to accomplish that, Young is planning to have a very unique setup at his house.

With social distancing guidelines in place that prohibit gatherings of more than 10 people, Young says he is planning to have a group of 10 family members in his house during the NFL’s virtual draft. Young says he will also have a projection screen broadcasting the draft on the side of his house so other family and friends can pull up and watch.

“After, when it’s over and I do get drafted and can come outside, I’ll just try to make sure I can follow the rules so I can see the rest of my family,” Young said.

The coronavirus outbreak has forced the cancellation of gatherings all over the country, and people have tried to improvise with things like drive-by birthday parties. As long as everyone stays in their own vehicle and doesn’t gather in a big group to watch the draft, Young’s plan sounds like it should work out nicely.

Young is expected to be taken by the Washington Redskins with the No. 2 overall pick, and he recently shared some of his thoughts on playing for them.
