Chase Young would be honored to play for Redskins
Chase Young is one of the best prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft and expected to be selected very high, likely No. 2 overall by the Washington Redskins. Young is from Upper Marlboro, Maryland and attended DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville, Maryland for college. Playing for the Redskins would keep he close to where he grew up, and would be an “honor” for him.
“It would definitely be an honor to play at home,” Young told WJLA’s Scott Abraham on Thursday.
“Not a lot of people get the opportunity to play for their hometown football team. Like any team I go to, I’m going to be the best player I can be. But it definitely would be a great experience closer to home. It definitely would be real good.”
Young had 30.5 sacks over three seasons at Ohio State and became a feared defensive end for the powerhouse Buckeyes.
If he were to be drafted by Washington, the 21-year-old would join former Buckeyes teammates Dwayne Haskins and Terry McLaurin. Haskins already is looking forward to teaming with Young in the pros.
