Chris Hogan has been a productive player in his two seasons with the New England Patriots, and the team is reportedly looking to continue the partnership beyond 2018.
According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, Hogan and the Patriots have had discussions about a potential contract extension but have been “a bit too far apart” early in the process.
Chris Hogan and the Patriots have had negotiations regarding a contract extension, but the two sides remain a bit too far apart at the early stages of the process, per source. Doesn’t mean they can’t make up ground in the coming weeks. But again, the process is ongoing.

Hogan was on pace for a career year with the Patriots in 2017, but he injured his shoulder and missed the majority of the second half of the season. He finished with 59 catches for 439 yards and five touchdowns in just nine regular season games, and he had a huge game in the Super Bowl with six catches for 128 yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Hogan, 29, has established solid chemistry with Tom Brady over the past two years, which is not an easy feat. It’s no surprise the Patriots are interested in extending him.
