The New England Patriots are very thin at the wide receiver position heading into the 2019 season, but they apparently do not feel veteran Chris Hogan can help in that department.
On Friday, Hogan agreed to a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers.
The #Panthers added WR help late in the process, signing former #Patriots WR Chris Hogan to a 1-year deal.

Hogan appeared in all 16 games for the Patriots last season, but he did not have a major role in their offense. He caught just 35 passes for 532 yards and three touchdowns after putting up similar production in just nine games the year before.
Hogan, 31, should provide some nice receiver depth for the Panthers, who have struggled to find consistency at the position in recent years. The health of Cam Newton’s shoulder has a lot to do with that, but personnel has also been a factor.
