Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory has been ruled out for his team’s Week 1 game against the Green Bay Packers after he was admitted to the hospital Sunday night.
Ivory was questionable to play because of a calf injury, but Jeff Darlington of ESPN reports that the injury is unrelated to Ivory’s trip to the hospital. The visit was said to have been “precautionary.”

The Jaguars did not specify what Ivory’s medical issue was.
Losing Ivory could prove to be a significant setback for Jacksonville, as the Jags expected him to form a tandem with T.J. Yeldon after they signed the former New York Jet to a five-year, $32 million contract this past offseason. When you hear what Ivory said about himself last season, you know he is expecting big things in 2016.
