Christian McCaffrey’s status for ‘Monday Night Football’ revealed
Christian McCaffrey suffered an injury during last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns, but it sounds like the star running back will play on Monday night.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that McCaffrey is expected to play when the San Francisco 49ers face the Minnesota Vikings on “Monday Night Football.” McCaffrey is listed as questionable with an oblique injury but returned to practice as a limited participant on Saturday.
Schefter notes that McCaffrey did not take any hits in practice. He told reporters afterward that he felt “great.”
McCaffrey left last week’s game against the Browns and briefly returned before being ruled out with an oblique injury.
McCaffrey had a reputation for being injury prone when the 49ers acquired him in a trade with the Carolina Panthers last year. He played in just seven games in 2021 and three in 2020, but he has not missed a game since arriving in San Francisco.
Through six games this year, McCaffrey has 553 yards rushing and 177 receiving yards on 23 catches. He has scored 9 total touchdowns.
