Raiders TE Clive Walford suffered knee injury in ATV accident
Oakland Raiders tight end Clive Walford will not be participating in spring practices after he suffered a knee injury while riding an ATV earlier this offseason.
Mike Garafolo and Peter Schrager of FOX Sports report that Walford had surgery a few weeks ago and the injury “may not be as bad as originally thought.” It’s unclear exactly what happened and the Raiders have kept the incident quiet, but Walford is said to have injured his knee in some sort of ATV accident. He has reportedly shown a lot of improvement since undergoing surgery.
For those of you who are going to say Walford should not have been riding an ATV, just remember we have seen pro athletes mess up their knees doing far, far less.
The Raiders drafted Walford out of Miami in the third round last year. He showed some flashes of great athleticism down the stretch, catching 27 passes for 329 yards and three touchdowns over his final 12 games. Hopefully a freak accident doesn’t set him back too far.
