The Indianapolis Colts may reportedly bolster their offensive staff with one of the biggest names in franchise history.

The Colts are giving strong consideration to hiring Reggie Wayne as wide receivers coach, according to Zak Keefer of The Athletic. No agreement has been finalized yet.

News: The Colts are strongly considering hiring franchise great Reggie Wayne as the team’s new wide receivers coach, sources said. Nothing finalized, but would be a big addition to Frank Reich’s staff.

Wayne played his entire career with the Colts from 2001 to 2014. He was a six-time Pro Bowler and reached the 1,000 yard mark eight times during that span. He does not have any formal coaching experience, though he did spend time with the Colts as a volunteer receivers coach in the past.

Wayne would seem to have the necessary work ethic to succeed in the role based on his commitment to the team. He would definitely be a popular hire if this does come to pass.
