Colts want Adam Vinatieri to remain their kicker despite retirement rumors
The Indianapolis Colts are standing by Adam Vinatieri even as he mulls retirement.
The 46-year-old kicker appears poised to stay with the team, as coach Frank Reich said Monday that the team has “zero concern” about Vinatieri’s recent struggles.
Coach Frank Reich is on his conference call…. “Adam is our kicker. We have zero concern. He’s not only our kicker, he’s a key leader on our team…”

It essentially looks like the status quo. Vinatieri has made just one of three field goals and two of five extra point attempts this season, and those numbers are definitely worthy of a kicking crisis. However, the Colts clearly believe he can turn things around, and value his presence as a teammate as well.
Vinatieri strongly hinted at retirement after his two missed PATs on Sunday. Perhaps the Colts managed to talk him out of it.
