A federal judge has dismissed retired NFL offensive tackle Matt Kalil’s lawsuit against his ex-wife, model Haley Kalil, over remarks she made about their marriage and his anatomy.
Chief U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz granted Haley’s motion on September 17 and dismissed the complaint with prejudice.
Kalil, selected fourth overall by the Minnesota Vikings in 2012, sued in January after Haley discussed their relationship on a November 2025 Twitch livestream with Marlon Garcia. She said physical incompatibility made intimacy painful and was a major reason for their 2022 divorce, comparing his anatomy to stacked soda cans.
She did not name him in those comments.
Kalil alleged public disclosure of private facts and unjust enrichment. He said the remarks drew ridicule after he tried to live privately following his 2019 retirement and that his current wife, Keilani Asmus, received disturbing messages. He sought more than $75,000.
Schiltz found Haley was speaking about her own marriage, health and divorce — matters of legitimate public concern given both parties’ public profiles.
“Haley was discussing her life, not Matt’s,” the judge wrote, via the New York Post.
He also rejected the claim that she unjustly profited from the attention.
Haley, a former Miss Minnesota USA and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model known online as Haley Baylee, said she was relieved. Her attorney, Matthew Bialick, said the court found she was talking about her body, her life and what led to the divorce.
Kalil’s attorney, Ryan Saba, said they intend to appeal.
The couple married in Hawaii in 2015 and divorced in 2022. Kalil remarried in 2024 after a Pro Bowl rookie season in Minnesota and later stops with the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans.
