Report: Cowboys fear Sean Lee has torn ACL

Sean-Lee-injury

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee left practice on Tuesday with an apparent leg injury, and the team is reportedly bracing for the worst. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys fear Lee has torn the ACL in his left knee. He’ll undergo an MRI on Tuesday to assess the damage.

An injury of that magnitude would obviously be devastating for both Lee and his teammates. The 27-year-old recorded 99 total tackles last year in just 11 games. Lee also has a great nose for the ball, as he has recorded 11 interceptions in his four-year career.

Lee declared himself fully recovered from a torn ligament in his neck earlier this offseason. He has battled injuries throughout his entire career and has never played in a full 16-game season.

To make matters worse, Tuesday was the first day of organized team activities for the Cowboys. It was supposed to be a non-contact practice, but Lee was reportedly rolled up on by a teammate. He’ll miss the entire 2014 season if the Cowboys’ fears are realized.
