Report: Cowboys have interest in trading for star pass-rusher

The Dallas Cowboys have had a major hole to fill along their defensive front since they traded Micah Parsons, and they may be interested in another All-Pro player who would be able to address that need.

Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson is viewed as a player who could become available ahead of the Nov. 4 trade deadline, especially with Joe Burrow sidelined until at least December. According to Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Cowboys are one of several teams that have an eye on Hendrickson.

The Cowboys are 2-3-1 following their disappointing Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers. They have three games remaining before the trade deadline, so how they play will likely factor into how aggressive they are in looking to add to their roster.

Dallas acquired two first-round draft picks from the Green Bay Packers as part of the Parsons trade. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has consistently said the team is willing to part with its additional draft capital in order to improve the roster in 2025.

Of course, Jones also said he was confident the Cowboys would be better off in the short term without Parsons. He then made another delusional comment about the team this week that fans could not believe.

Pauline says other teams that will likely have interest in Hendrickson include the San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles.

Hendrickson has 4 sacks this season after finishing with 17.5 in 2023 and 17.5 in 2024. He remains one of the top pass-rushers in the NFL, though he has been ruled out for Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a back injury.

Hendrickson signed a new one-year, $30 million deal with the Bengals this year following a tense offseason between the two sides. That tension probably has not fully subsided, so it would not be a shock if Cincinnati decided to trade the four-time Pro Bowl selection.
