David Njoku shares first photo of his face following nasty burns
David Njoku on Wednesday decided to publicly share a photo of his face for the first time since he was burned in an accident.
Njoku’s face and arms were burned when he was trying to light a fire in a fire pit at his home on Sept. 29. There were questions about the tight end’s status for Week 4, but Njoku played in his Cleveland Browns’ 27-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens that Sunday — fewer than two days after the incident.
Njoku arrived for his team’s game wearing a mask covering his face and big coat covering his arms. He wound up leading his team in catches (6) and receiving yards (46) that game.
On Wednesday, the tight end finally decided to share a photo of his face on Instagram. The photo he shared shows the damage that was done to Njoku’s face. You can see it here but beware that the image may be difficult to look at.
Njoku captioned his post about the burns with one word, “legacy.”
The Browns were off in Week 5 but will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Week 6.
