David Wilson, Rueben Randle hurl insults on Twitter — were they joking?
Rueben Randle and David Wilson have both had their ups and downs with the New York Giants since their NFL careers began a year ago. Wilson, a former Virginia Tech star, ended up in Tom Coughlin’s dog house after Week 1 this season when he lost two fumbles. Randle, who played college ball at LSU, has been a pleasant surprise on box scores, but he has forced Eli Manning into more than one interception by running the wrong route.
On Tuesday night, the two second-year players decided to go at it on Twitter. The exchange had the feel of two close friends ripping on each other in only a way that close friends could get away with. However, they said some stuff that makes you wonder if there was truth behind the heckling. You be the judge.

@4stillRunning "Wilson takes the kickoff. He has room on the sideline (crowd cheers). He cuts back…FUUMMBBLLLEEE!!"
— Rueben Randle (@RuebenRandle) October 16, 2013
If the Giants weren’t 0-6, some of this stuff would probably be funnier. Common sense would tell you they were just razzing one another. But this seemed like kind of a cheap shot from Randle.
@4stillRunning ain't nutn wrong with yo neck. B Jacobs just punk'd u out ur spot

After some more jabs back and forth, Wilson basically called off the fight with this tweet:
On a serious note me, @RuebenRandle and THE GIANTS love the game and winning We make mistakes but know we always play hard for the Team/Fans
— David E. Wilson (@4stillRunning) October 16, 2013
If they love winning, they can’t be enjoying themselves all that much this season. Aside from this acrobatic double backflip, Wilson has had an incredibly rough season. Randle is making great progress, but at the end of the day both players are still a part of an 0-6 team. That isn’t fun for anyone.
