DeAndre Hopkins evaluated for rib injury

DeAndre Hopkins

Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was briefly evaluated for a rib injury during Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hopkins came up holding his ribcage after making a catch late in the first half, and he was not on the sideline when the second half got underway. CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson said on the telecast that Hopkins was undergoing X-rays for a rib injury.

Hopkins was seen jogging out of the tunnel shortly after to rejoin his teammates on the sideline. Houston started the half on defense, so Hopkins didn’t actually miss any plays.

The Texans can not afford to lose Hopkins with the team fading against the Chiefs. He was a huge part of the first half offense, catching five passes for 59 yards before halftime. It will be worth watching whether he seems hindered in any way during the second half.
