The first Sunday of the NFL season is an exciting one around the NFL, but for the Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams it’s a also a time to reflect.
In May, Williams’ mother lost a decade-long batter with breast cancer. In addition to his mother, the 31-year-old has also lost four aunts to the disease.
As Williams prepares to begin his ninth season season in the NFL, he has decided to do his part to help spread breast cancer awareness in his own way. The color pink can be seen throughout the month of October as the league celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Month. On Sunday, it can be seen on DeAngelo Williams’ hair and toes.
