DeMarco Murray takes ‘full responsibility’ for Eagles situation

DeMarco Murray’s brief tenure with the Philadelphia Eagles was nothing short of a disappointment, and the running back is assuming “full responsibility” for things not working.

Murray rushed for just 702 yards on 193 carries last season, a year after he won the rushing title for the Dallas Cowboys. Things were so bad between Murray and the Eagles that the team hardly used him over the final month.

On Monday, Murray joined 102.5 The Game’s Darren McFarland and Derrick Mason and talked about his season in Philly.

“Things didn’t work out,” Murray said via Titan Insider. “I look in the mirror and don’t blame anyone. I take full responsibility of it. I just try to move on and work hard and try to make the best of the opportunity I’m given.”

Murray showed true leadership by not blaming anyone or calling the relationship a bad one.

“I wouldn’t say I was in the wrong relationship at all,” Murray said. “They have a great team there, great owner in Jeffrey [Lurie]. Howie [Roseman] and Jeff, they do a great job. They know what they want in the team, personnel wise. It was just a relationship that didn’t work, for whatever reason. I’m not going to go into the details of that. I have a really good relationship with those guys.”

Murray was signed by the Eagles after being picked by Chip Kelly as a perfect fit for the offense. Instead things never worked out and Murray ended up complaining about Kelly. Chip ended up fired while Murray was recently traded to the Titans. Perhaps both men will be better off elsewhere.
