Surprise team reportedly emerges as Deshaun Watson suitor

The number of teams interested in trading for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson appears to grow by the day.

The Minnesota Vikings are the latest team to show interest in trading for Watson, according to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network. The Vikings have expressed preliminary interest in Watson, but are not as aggressive in their pursuit as some other teams.

The Vikings already have a quarterback in Kirk Cousins. However, Cousins carries a $45 million cap hit with him in 2022, and the Vikings appear open to moving on from that under the right circumstances.

The Vikings do not sound like they will be as aggressive as one NFC rival in trying to bring in Watson. However, with a talented group of receivers, they could be an attractive destination in Watson’s eyes.
