Dez Bryant could turn to other interests instead of football

Dez Bryant

Other interests could lead to Dez Bryant stepping away from professional football to pursue something more meaningful to his personal life.

The 2018 season was a lost one for Bryant, who tore his Achilles less than a week after signing with the New Orleans Saints. Last month Bryant returned to football-related workouts, which made it appear he was working his way back to a potential return to game action.

On Monday, Bryant seemed a little cool on returning. He was asked by a fan on Twitter whether he was still interested in playing. His response talking about being a father and entrepreneur suggested that a return to the NFL isn’t a certainty.

Bryant last played in a game in December 2017. He will turn 31 during the upcoming NFL season and is coming back from an injury that has been known to dramatically reduce explosion and lateral quickness, which are essential for wide receivers. It sounds as though Bryant has used time during the recovery process to assess his priorities. Football may not be as high as it once was.
