Report: Dez Bryant was not asked to take pay cut before release
Dez Bryant is out the door in Dallas, and there was reportedly nothing he could have done to keep his job.
Numerous reports confirmed that the Cowboys would release Bryant on Friday. Despite speculation about a possible pay cut, Ben Rogers of 105.3 The Fan reported that Bryant was never even offered the opportunity to take a pay cut and remain with the Cowboys.
Source confirms with me…. Dez Bryant being released. Will not be offered to take a pay cut. Here we go.

To be clear, Bryant gave indications that he wouldn’t take a pay cut even if offered one, so Jerry Jones may not have bothered. It seems that the Cowboys were set on moving on from the relationship with Bryant no matter what given how quickly things came about.
