Dion Lewis blasts ‘cheap’ Patriots after blowout win

Dion Lewis

The Tennessee Titans dominated the New England Patriots on Sunday, and Dion Lewis can’t help but feel like his former team got what it deserved.

Lewis was a huge part of New England’s offense over the past few seasons, and he had over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns last year for a Patriots team that came one score short of winning another Super Bowl. The veteran running back is now with the Titans, and he did not hold back after Sunday’s blowout win when asked if he felt the game was personal.

“Hell yeah it’s personal,” Lewis said, per Michael Giardi of NFL Network. “That’s what happens when you go cheap. You get your a– kicked.”

Those are some pretty strong words from Lewis, but you can understand why he was frustrated. The Patriots made a decision that they thought was best from them for a business standpoint, and they felt Lewis would be easily replaced.

New England used a first-round pick on Sony Michel, who has been very solid when healthy. He was unable to get anything going in Sunday’s loss, however, which Lewis must have enjoyed. Between Lewis bashing his former team and Tom Brady’s embarrassing effort on a trick play, Week 10 was one to forget for the defending AFC champions.
