The appeal of playing in Cleveland has completely changed.
Now that Baker Mayfield is the quarterback and the coaching staff has been overhauled, the Browns appear to be on the right track. DK Metcalf, who was a standout wide receiver prospect at the combine, said he would love to team with Mayfield on the Browns when asked about the possibility.
“Just to play with quarterback like Baker Mayfield is going to be great,” Metcalf said Friday, via Cleveland.com. “You know, it’s just another blessed opportunity just to get drafted by the Cleveland Browns organization so I’m gonna take it one step at a time right now.”
Metcalf was the talk of the combine thanks to his fast 40-time, great vertical, overall size, and incredibly low body fat percentage. He left Ole Miss after a redshirt sophomore season that was cut short by a neck injury. Since being cleared in January, he’s wasted no time proving he’s well worth a first-round pick.
The Browns, picking at No. 17, seem like they could be a possibility to draft the athletic receiver.
