Doug Baldwin alludes to retirement report in funny tweets
Doug Baldwin alluded to the report about his potential retirement in some funny tweets sent on Sunday afternoon.
On Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that multiple injuries could end Baldwin’s career prematurely. The report was shared in the context of the Seahawks drafting wide receiver prospect DK Metcalf in the second round, and two other receivers in later rounds.
Here’s what Baldwin tweeted on Sunday.
I’ve read all the comments and heard all the theories. This journey through 8 seasons has been an incredible experience and the story is still not done. I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next. But I want to be the first one to say it… (cont)

Keep in mind that Baldwin sent the first tweet, leaving people on a cliffhanger, before sending this followup. Of course it was related to “Game of Thrones.”
…John Snow has to die for Khaleesi. He is the rightful heir to the throne but doesn’t want it. His drive is to save humanity. Khaleesi only knows conquest and sacrificing himself for her will teach her true love, thus how she should rule—with love. You heard it here first! #GOT

Baldwin made the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2017, so he’s still a completely capable player talent-wise if his body allows. That is the question, though.
The Seahawks expect a decision on Baldwin’s future in weeks.
A Doug Baldwin resolution may be “weeks” away, Seattle GM John Schneider said. Baldwin is considering retirement following multiple surgeries this offseason.
