The struggles of the Chargers in the fourth quarter this season have been well document and they continued during Sunday’s game against the Raiders.
With San Diego facing a 4th-and-1 on Oakland’s 18 yard line and down 34-31, the Chargers lined up for a field goal attempt that could have tied the game with two minutes left in regulation. Unfortunately, the kick never happened because the snap was botched by rookie punter Drew Kaser.
It's late in the 4th quarter, so you know how this FG try went for the Chargers. https://t.co/Mocb6u8feD

The Chargers would go on to lose the game by the same score after leading 24-16 in the third quarter. When asked about the snap after the game, Kaser had an interesting comment.
Drew Kaser's comment on botched snap similar to comment on 16-yard punt. "We've got to go back to the film and see what happened."

Do you really need to see a replay to understand what happened there? I think it’s pretty straightforward.
For San Diego, this was just another in a string of heartbreaking final periods. They held a 34-21 lead over the Saints before ultimately losing 35-34 in Week 4. In Week 3, the Chargers squandered a late 22-20 lead to the Colts, who came away with a 26-22 victory. Against the Chiefs in the season opener, San Diego blew a 17-point fourth quarter lead.
For head coach Mike McCoy, it seems like it’s always something new.
Mike McCoy: "Just when you think you've seen it all, something like that happens."

Next up for the Chargers will be the Broncos on Thursday.
