John Elway says Drew Lock will start for Broncos in 2020
Drew Lock will get the chance to show he can be the Denver Broncos’ quarterback of the future in 2020.
Team president John Elway confirmed Monday that it would be “unrealistic” to get a different quarterback next season, confirming Lock will get the chance to lead the Broncos.
“I don’t like to show our hand, but I think it’s unrealistic to say that we’re going in a different direction.” – John Elway when asked if Drew Lock is their starter in 2020.

The announcement puts Joe Flacco’s future up in the air, as Denver has a lot of money tied up in the veteran over the next two seasons. He didn’t get it done, though, and didn’t really seem to enjoy his time with the Broncos.
Denver making the right move turning to Lock, even if questions remain there as well. He went 4-1 as Denver’s starter down the stretch, even though he threw for fewer than 200 yards in three of those games. He threw for seven touchdowns and three interceptions, and one has to figure he’ll gain in confidence with a full offseason knowing that the job is his.
