Earl Thomas, Marlon Humphrey worked out great deal for jersey number

Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas will be playing for a team other than the Seattle Seahawks for the first time in his career next season, but he was able to find a way to keep the jersey number he has worn since he came into the NFL.

At his introductory press conference with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday, Thomas revealed that he will still be wearing No. 29 despite the fact that it belonged to Marlon Humphrey last season. The two worked out a deal, with Thomas agreeing to make a donation to the track team Humphrey’s mother coaches.

This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen two pro athletes work out a deal for a jersey number, but it’s a lot more original than some of the past agreements we have featured. If you’re going to pay for a jersey number, the money might as well go to a good cause.
