Eric Berry expected to return from Achilles injury, play in Week 15
Eric Berry’s long-awaited return from an Achilles’ tendon injury is expected to take place on Thursday night.
Berry is expected to play for the Kansas City Chiefs in their game on Thursday against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Things had been trending in this direction. Berry began practicing in late November and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Monday that the safety could make his season debut this week.
Berry, 29, signed a six-year, $78 million contract in early 2017. The former No. 5 overall pick has 14 career interceptions (5 returned for touchdowns), three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Getting Berry back would be a huge addition for the Chiefs at a time when they’ve lost Kareem Hunt, and have seen Sammy Watkins and Spencer Ware get hurt.
