Several top defensive prospects posted eye-popping numbers in the 40-yard dash on Sunday, and at least one current NFL player feels the need to step his game up because of it.
Linebackers Devin White and Devin Bush, both potential early draft picks, showed off the speed that has made them two of the most explosive players in the country. White had the fastest 40-yard dash time of all linebackers with 4.42 seconds, while Bush wasn’t far behind at 4.44 seconds. After hearing about the times, Indianapolis Colts tight end Eric Ebron tweeted that he needs to lay off the junk food.

Obviously, it takes a little more than speed to be successful in the NFL. However, linebackers like White and Bush will have no problem keeping up with tight ends, which is one of the reasons teams will value them so highly.
Believe it or not, there’s also a defensive lineman in this year’s draft that is just as fast as White and Bush.
