Twitter reacts to DE Montez Sweat’s insane 40-yard dash time
NFL quarterbacks are going to have a very difficult time running away from Montez Sweat. If they didn’t already know how fast the former Mississippi State star is, they certainly will after the performance he put on at the NFL Scouting Combine on Sunday.
Sweat, who measures 6-foot-6 and 260 pounds, recorded the fastest 40-yard dash time of any defensive lineman in Combine history.
.@HailStateFB DL Montez Sweat just ran a 4.42u!
An #NFLCombine record for DL if official (since '03). @_sweat9

Some context on DE Montez Sweat’s 4.42 at 260 pounds:
Amari Cooper 4.42
Julio Jones 4.42
Odell Beckham Jr. 4.43
A.J. Green 4.49
Michael Thomas 4.57
Antonio Brown 4.57— Andrew Siciliano (@AndrewSiciliano) March 3, 2019
Montez Sweat’s official 40 time: 4.41. He’s 260 pounds. That’s an NFL Combine record for a DL. Someone else who probably also made a bunch of money today—the folks who trained him for this day.

A 1.55 split and a 4.42 on 260-pound Montez Sweat is nuts. Stamp his freak ID card with no expiration.#NFLCombine

If Montez Sweat ran a 4.42… there is no way on God’s green earth that he gets out of the top 10. And that may be conservative.
Thought he’d be closer to 4.7.

That’s only a slightly slower 40-yard dash time than the one that boosted a star wide receiver’s stock over the weekend, so the fact that it was posted by a defensive lineman is truly remarkable. Sweat has a great chance of going in the top 10 of the NFL Draft.
