Report: Ezekiel Elliott told police Tiffany Thompson’s injuries were from bar fight

The woman who accused Ezekiel Elliott of assaulting her filed two reports with police on Friday morning, and the rookie running back has denied that any of the allegations are true.

As we learned earlier, Elliot’s ex-girlfriend Tiffany Thompson told police the former Ohio State star attacked her while she was sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked car on Friday. That was the first report. According to The Huffington Post, Thompson filed a second report claiming Elliott repeatedly abused her between the dates of July 16 and July 20. She says Elliott hit her several times and left bruises.

Elliott, who has not been charged with a crime, told police Thompson’s injuries were the result of a bar fight she was involved in. Thompson shared several photos on Instagram and claimed she was a victim of domestic abuse, with the implication being that Elliott was the attacker. You can see the photos here.

The Cowboys are said to believe Elliott is innocent. One report claims Thompson threatened to “ruin” Elliott if he broke up with her and that she went to the police after he ended the relationship. Mike Leslie of WFAA in Dallas cites a source who claims Elliott has text messages saved proving Thompson was trying to set him up:

High-ranking #Cowboys source says that Ezekiel Elliott has messages saved on his phone proving his ex-girlfriend is trying to set him up.

The NFL will conduct its own investigation into the allegations against Elliott. Even if he is not charged, he could still face discipline from the league pending the results.
