Jack and Jackie Harbaugh chose not to attend Monday’s coaching clash between their sons John and Jim Harbaugh. Some fans did not seem to understand why.
Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers hosted John Harbaugh’s Baltimore Ravens on “Monday Night Football” at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The battle between brothers has been far and away the biggest storyline in the matchup between two projected playoff teams.
However, the Harbaugh Bowl narrative was apparently not enough to get parents Jack and Jackie Harbaugh to attend the contest. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the two decided to spend time with their daughter Joani as the couple celebrated their 63rd anniversary.

Jackie and Jack Harbaugh will not be attending tonight’s Ravens-Chargers game in Los Angeles. Instead, they will be with their daughter Joani, son-in-law Tom Crean, and their two grandchildren in Florida, celebrating their 63rd anniversary.

While the decision was clearly personal between the couple and their family, several fans questioned why they would not want to spend the occasion at the game.
No better way to celebrate than to be at the game where your sons are coaching against each other

The Harbaughs obviously don’t need to answer to the public as to why they chose not to attend Monday’s game. With football having been such a constant in their family life over the years, perhaps the pair wanted to spend time away for the gridiron for a major milestone in their relationship.
After Jack and Jackie watched their sons face off during Super Bowl 47, any other game is a step down anyways.
