The Tennessee Titans have found their new leader in Robert Saleh, who has reportedly been hired as the team’s head coach.
The news came after the Titans announced on Monday that they had completed in-person interviews with Saleh and Matt Nagy.
Apparently, Tennessee liked Saleh more, and so do a lot of Titans fans based on their reactions to the news on social media. Although either John Harbaugh or Kevin Stefanski would have been a more popular choice among Tennessee fans, they were at least relieved that Nagy wasn’t the consolation.

Wouldn’t have been my first choice but when it was between him and Nagy, he’s EASILY my pick.

Now go hire Mike McDaniel as OC. pic.twitter.com/tcdDfETkQM
Both Saleh and Nagy had underwhelming stints as head coaches before for the New York Jets and the Chicago Bears, respectively.
This is a return to the top of a coaching staff for Saleh, who reunited with the San Francisco 49ers in the 2025 NFL season as their defensive coordinator. Before that, he served four seasons as head coach from 2021 to 2024 of the Jets, who won just 20 games against 36 losses with him at the helm.
As for Nagy, many fans appear to have less confidence in him than Saleh for some reason. That’s even though he once won the AP Coach of the Year Award in 2018.
Nagy coached the Bears for four seasons from 2018 to 2021 and steered the team to a 34-31 record during that stretch. After getting fired by the Bears in 2022, Nagy returned to the Kansas City Chiefs to be the team’s senior assistant and quarterbacks coach before being promoted later to the offensive coordinator role.
Nagy haters in Tennessee, however, can’t fully rejoice yet, as there remains a possibility that the Titans end up hiring him as their offensive coordinator.
