The Miami Dolphins are hosting the New York Jets at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, and it sounds like those who watch the game can expect plenty of talk about field conditions.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that there are serious concerns about the condition of the field surface at Hard Rock Stadium after college teams Duke and Miami played in heavy rains there on Saturday. One source described the field to Schefter as “horrendous,” with another guaranteeing the sloppy conditions are going to create headlines.
“Heard it here first,” the source told Schefter. “The NFL is going to be in the news for the Jets-Dolphins game field playing conditions.”
As it turns out, this will be the second straight year that the Jets have had to play on a field that is in poor shape in Miami. Some of the complaints about the field at Hard Rock center around drainage issues and the grass being poor quality.
Between a sloppy field surface and the horrific accident that happened with a fan there earlier this season, Hard Rock Stadium has had a rough year.
