Gardner Minshew has taken Jacksonville by storm in 2019, yet he could be playing for his starting job on Sunday in London.
Nick Foles is expected to be ready to play after the Jaguars’ upcoming Week 10 bye. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the team has yet to give much thought to who will start at quarterback after that bye week. That means that Minshew is going to have to impress Sunday, and may be playing for his starting job against the Houston Texans.
From @gmfb: When the #Jaguars say they haven’t decided on Gardner Minshew or Nick Foles as their QB after the bye, they mean it. Minshew gets the chance to make one final statement tomorrow vs. the #Texans. pic.twitter.com/XaTrcRACqT

Foles, of course, is a Super Bowl MVP and a guy that Jacksonville brought in to be a franchise quarterback. They gave him over $50 million in guaranteed money, so they’re paying him like one, too.
Minshew, however, has gone 4-3 as the team’s starter, and comes into Sunday’s game on the back of two straight victories. He has 13 touchdown passes to just two picks, and hasn’t really done anything to get benched. Add in the fact that he’s basically a meme at this point and, unless he bombs against Houston, the Jags will probably have a hard time sitting him.
