George Kittle got a Heath Ledger Joker tattoo day before his wedding
George Kittle got a notable new tattoo over the offseason. The timing of the tattoo is just as interesting as the actual ink job he got.
During Monday night’s preseason game between the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, ESPN made mention of Kittle’s new Heath Ledger Joker tattoo and how the tight end got it done the day before his wedding.
Here’s a look at the tattoo. Kittle said that his wife Claire was not happy with him for getting it done before their wedding.

An ESPN story on Kittle explained why the tight end got it done with such strange timing.
Kittle had been wanting to get a tattoo of his alter ego — the Heath Ledger version of the Joker — and he wanted to do it at Neon Dragon Tattoo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, his preferred purveyor of ink. With scheduling conflicts both ways, the day before the biggest day of his life was the only option.
Kittle had his arm bandaged so the new tattoo wouldn’t bleed through during his wedding.
Though she was initially upset about it, Claire now calls it “really cool.”
Kittle emerged as one of the best tight ends in the NFL last year. He had 88 catches for 1,377 yards and five touchdowns.
