Giants owner getting silent treatment from grandson over Odell Beckham trade
The New York Giants’ trade of Odell Beckham was met with widespread negative response among the team’s fans, and that includes even the owner’s family.
Speaking from the NFL owners meetings this week, Giants owner John Mara said that one of his grandsons still isn’t talking to him because he’s upset over the trade.
“It’s not going to be easy,” John Mara on watching @obj play for Browns. “Toughest” part was telling his grandsons they traded their favorite player. One grandson still isn’t talking to him, Mara said. #NYG

If you saw the way Giants fans reacted to the trade, the silent treatment from the grandson should not come as a surprise.
The Giants dealt one of the best wide receivers in the league and one of their most popular players. They did so at a time when they committed to Eli Manning for another year, leaving fans questioning the direction of the team.
Trading away a popular player is never easy, and the best way to make fans get over it is by winning. The Giants still seem like they are a long ways away from being a consistent winner again.
