After scoring a touchdown against the Rams, Golden Tate was in a jubilant mood.
With Detroit trailing 28-21 in the fourth quarter, Matthew Stafford found Tate for a 23-yard score, leading to a tie game after the extra point was converted. It was Tate’s first touchdown of the season, which called for a celebration. So, he found a few cheerleaders, borrowed some pompoms, and showed off his moves.
Tate had eight receptions for a career-high 165 yards in Sunday’s game. It was his first game with 100+ yards since Week 10 of the 2014 season. Tate was benched two weeks ago against the Bears so his performance versus the Rams was a welcomed sight for the Lions and their fans. With Calvin Johnson now retired, Tate was expected to be a big part of the passing game this season, but that has not been the case to this point. Hopefully, this gets him going.
