Greg Jennings had the best reaction to NC State player’s gimpy TD

An NC State player runs for a touchdown while hobbled

NC State tight end Justin Joly scored a touchdown on Saturday that brought many fans back to a different decade, and former Green Bay Packers star Greg Jennings had the perfect social media post about it.

Joly caught a 59-yard touchdown pass on a trick play late in the first half of NC State’s 53-34 loss to Pitt at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. As he was sprinting down the sideline toward the end zone, Joly sustained a leg injury.

Though he was hobbling badly, Joly still managed to score. He had trouble putting weight on his left leg and was helped to the sideline by teammates.

Jennings shared a video of the play on social media and captioned it, “Well, would you look at this…”

If you are relatively new to the internet, you might have no idea how Jennings has any connection to the Joly play. The rest of us have seen the famous video that a “Madden NFL” video game player shared back in 2010 that has been viewed more than 15 million times on YouTube and countless more elsewhere.

In the video, a person who was playing the ‘Madden’ video game had Aaron Rodgers complete a pass from his own end zone to Jennings, who apparently had some sort of injury in the fictional game. Jennings ran the length of the field to score while holding his left leg. The commentary from the gamer, which contains inappropriate language, was some of the funniest content ever created.

Those who are familiar with the old viral video immediately compared Joly’s play to the Jennings ‘Madden’ play, and Jennings himself got in on the fun.
