Renowned color commentator Greg Olsen remains at FOX despite being nudged aside by a certain Tom Brady. Olsen’s new role with the company has now come to light.
FOX Sports has locked in Olsen as part of its No. 2 NFL announcing team with play-by-play man Joe Davis, according to the New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel.
Over the last two seasons, Olsen had served as the color commentator on FOX’s No. 1 team alongside Kevin Burkhardt. But Olsen had always known Brady’s arrival would lead to his demotion.

Olsen has worked with Davis in the past. The former NFL tight end and the Los Angeles Dodgers play-by-play announcer teamed up when Burkhardt was assigned to call MLB playoff games.
Olsen has been vocal about his desire to return as a network’s No. 1 color commentator in the future. With Brady in tow, Olsen probably won’t get that opportunity at FOX anytime soon.
But perhaps the booth isn’t Olsen’s only opportunity to continue working in football. He was reportedly among the head coaching candidates for one of his former NFL teams.
