Jacksonville Jaguars cornerbacks AJ Bouye and Jalen Ramsey were feeling pretty confident after their wild-card win over the Buffalo Bills.
In an appearance on NFL Network’s “NFL GameDay Prime” in the hours after Sunday’s 10-3 victory, the duo had a bit of smack talk for the Pittsburgh Steelers, whom they will now be playing in the divisional round next week.
“Ben [Roethlisberger] said he wants to play us, so he gonna get what he asked for,” said Bouye, in reference to recent comments that Roethlisberger made saying that he wanted another chance to face the Jaguars.
Bouye and Ramsey were then asked which of the two of them would get the dreaded matchup against Steelers All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown.
“They know both of us want him,” replied Bouye.
“Hey, that’s the dog in us, man,” added Ramsey. “The best always wanna go up against the so-called best in the league. AB, he definitely is one of the best in the league, so why wouldn’t we want that challenge?”
The corner tandem, both of whom were also All-Pro selections this year, has reason to feel bullish after the dominant defensive performance against the Bills. But they do sound a lot surer of themselves than their coach might be.
